- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Candy eyeballs and/or mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a clean metal or glass bowl, beat the egg whites at medium-low speed until frothy.
- Add cream of tartar and continue mixing until combined.
- Gradually add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, allowing it to dissolve completely.
- Increase mixer speed to medium and beat until stiff peaks form and mixture is glossy.
- Gently fold in vanilla extract.
- Transfer meringue into a piping bag fitted with a 1/2” tip.
- Pipe ghost shapes onto the prepared baking sheets, adding candy eyes before baking.
- Bake for about one hour until dry and crisp; leave in the oven to cool completely.
