  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk or cream (for glaze)
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toast pecans on a baking sheet for 5–7 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Cream softened butter with brown and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in cooled, toasted pecans.
  7. Drop rounded balls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are set but soft.
  9. Cool cookies on a wire rack before glazing.
  10. In a saucepan over low heat, melt together the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Stir in milk before removing from heat. Whisk in powdered sugar until there are no lumps.
