- 1 small onion, diced
- ½ cup bell pepper, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 8 oz tomato sauce
- 14.5 oz canned diced tomatoes, undrained
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 2 cups uncooked macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup milk
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium heat, cook the ground beef with onion, bell pepper, and garlic until browned.
- Stir in the chili seasoning mix, tomato paste, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, and kidney beans; simmer for about 20 minutes.
- In another pot, melt butter and whisk in flour to create a roux. Gradually add milk and cream until smooth; stir in mustard powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, hot sauce, and cheddar cheese until melted.
- Combine the cooked macaroni with the chili mixture in the pot; stir well to incorporate everything.
